Voting Day

Village captain and village councilor elections are done now. It is hard to do the right thing when the majority of those around you are taking short cuts. There were only three out of seven councilors that won in our village who didn’t pay for votes and out of the two running for village captain The Who paid won. Some may see this as a loss but I see it as a victory. For every other election before this everyone paid who won. Congratulations Nono I pray that you can influence change from your newly elected position!

p.s. the ink on the fingernails is the mark they give so that can tell you already voted.

The New School Year

Well we are less than a month away (June 4th) from the public school starting up again and Jakin Ministry is doubling the number of students (from 30 to 60) that we sponsor. We ask you to prayerfully consider joining us in the big undertaking. I don’t want to sound like a salesman but I also don’t want anyone who is wondering about the facts of this program to not have the right information so here are the basics. We will be sponsoring 30 elementary students and 30 high school students this year at a cost of $50 per student for the entire school year. That includes the materials they need (pencils, pens, paper and special project materials), travel expenses and test fees (yes they have to pay for tests). If you are thinking about donating to cover a student or even part of a student’s schooling you can do it in two ways. We have collaborated with eGiving.com to setup an easy, secure way for both one-time and monthly giving. It will also allow you to define that you would like your gift to go towards scholarship. This helps us ensure that every dollar you give goes towards the school program. The other way is to write and send a check to Jakin Ministry at PO Box 504, Belmont, MI, 49306 please write in the memo blank scholarship or school in addition to anything else you would write so that we can earmark those funds properly. Once again thank you, thank you, thank you for joining us is this ministry, we couldn’t do this without your help and encouragement. Here are 13 students out of the 30 we currently have in the program.

MY EYES!

Anybody have any suggestions for an eyeball with a clear conjunctival cist (I believe that's what it is)? There is fluid between the conjunctiva (thin transparent tissue that covers the eye) and the sclera (white part). It looked like a blister yesterday morning but now only itches and is blood . My plan as of right now to give it a couple days off and then see how it is unless someone gives me good reason to do something else. I have not been wearing my contacts for over a week, just in case you were wondering.
