Passport
Monday we were in Cebu City renewing Boaz's US passport. Our number was Boaz's age. The boys don't like going to the big cities because of all the traffic, walking, waiting and nowhere to run and play. Oh well it is in the past and it's good to learn that sometimes in life we need to just grin and bear it. It will be better if they learn it now while they are young instead of learning it when they are old and set in their ways.
Nature Pics
A bad Good Boy
Buster is so bad!
Nature
Not the usual visitor
We don't see this kind of frog often here.
A Good Catch
One mantis shrimp and three different kinds of fish that we got from local fishermen this morning.
More Butterflies
Burning Season
Burning season is back! They burn the tall grass on the hillsides so that they can plant gardens easier instead of cutting it down. This can be very dangerous and harmful since most people don't prepare their area so that the fire only burns their property. Once started it goes where the wind blows and becomes a ragging monster consuming all that it can. Killing or stunting tree growth wherever it goes. Also many kinds of birds have their nests hidden in the tall grasses as do other wildlife. This is the easy way to clear land but as we know the easy way in life usually isn't the best.
A Better View
A couple better pictures of the mantis shrimp. The one we got this morning had his front legs off because they use them to defend themselves when caught.
So Will I
I received this song along with the words “Listen to the words of this song... let them wash over you and renew your spirit!!” And they did that thank you Shari!
Now I have a proposal, listen to this songs words and comment which phrase stands out to you like a message from God and share why if you are willing. That way we can learn from each other’s journeys and rejoice, cry and praise together. Life is so much more than the daily grind!
Easter Dinner
We do cook some meals that we enjoyed in Michigan every once and awhile. Grilled chicken, fresh potato salad and green beans.
Happy Easter
Happy Easter! I am at a loss of words what this day really means to me. It is why we moved half way round the world and are here in the Philippines now.
Variety
I am amazed by the verity of butterflies here. I keep thinking that I have seen all the different kinds and then another one visits us.
Jerky
Last bag of venison jerky that we made before we left. Thanks Skip and Diane Sietsema for helping us stock up before we left. We made 36 pounds of meat into jerky and it has lasted us this long. JP and Veronica if you want some you better come quick!
Camouflage
Natural camouflage, God amazes me with His creativity!
Barracuda
Barracuda and a couple flounders for the upcoming menu.
Back to the Home
Harvest is over, it was a decent harvests praise God. Back to building the well house that will also cover the soaking tub.
Upgrades to the Ride
Cargo carrier and extended foot pegs for passengers all in one. Another project done and checked off the list of things to do. This was on our old motorcycle before it got a sidecar. I had to cut it apart and weld it back together to fit the new motorcycle, clean it up and repaint it. Now the new motorcycle is more family friendly!
New Chew Toys
I think we might have found something other than our clothes, tools, table, extension cords, house etc..... for the dogs to chew on. Coconuts whole unpeeled or split in half. Before and after shots below. I don't think that this would work for to long for your dog Jason Yakes. It also works as a great way to keep their teeth clean.
